Greetings lovers of the movie world, and welcome to Screen Cupid – where I play matchmaker to cinema’s favorite love stories. Here, on this site, we unapologetically celebrate the enchanting world of romantic movies.

My affair with romance on the silver screen began with the unlikely duo of Christmas and the movie “Avanti!” – a Billy Wilder gem featuring the legendary Jack Lemmon and Juliet Mills. Each year, post-Christmas feast, the women in our tribe gathered to revel in this cinematic classic (though it was arguably unsuitable for my young eyes!).  Witnessing the sheer joy this movie brought my family each year was a priceless spectacle (I have video evidence of my aunt assisting in the kitchen whilst humming the score and dancing with a dishcloth).

Our family matriarch, my grandmother, led the charge in our collective admiration for the romantic genre, fostering affectionate fantasy dalliances with the likes of Cary Grant and Sidney Poitier. The living room echoes of “Gigi” became a familiar soundtrack. It’s perhaps no surprise that I find myself here – the architect of a website dedicated to all things romantic. My mission is to craft a safe haven for all you hopeless romantics out there, where we can come together, share, support, and collectively root for those epic happy endings.
